Microdermabrasion is a quick and convenient treatment. It has become very popular with patients showing the early signs of aging, sun exposure and other skin imperfections.

Microdermabrasion is a noninvasive and non-wounding exfoliation process that mechanically removes the dull, dead skin cells from the surface. The microdermabrasion treatment entails no discomfort, downtime or recovery. Patients typically experience very little redness for about 15 minutes to 1/2 hour after the treatment.

In addition to the face, microdermabrasion can be successfully used on the neck, arms and hands. It is also beneficial for patients with darker skin types. It can be used on any skin color without the fear of disturbing the pigment. This rejuvenation method is generally indicated for:

  • Dull, oily or leathery skin texture
  • Contracting enlarged pores
  • Exfoliating and suctioning clogged pores in acne cases
  • Polishing and reducing fine lines
  • Mild acne scarring
  • Mild pigment irregularities
  • Enhancing penetration of therapeutic agents

Microdermabrasion is effective in reducing fine lines, “crow’s feet,” age spots and acne scars. It stimulates the production of skin cells and collagen. Microdermabrasion has proven to be a very popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedure.

The Microdermabrasion Technique

Pristine is the most advanced medical microdermabrasion treatment available. Using laser cut diamond tip applicators, this treatment exfoliates the skin’s surface while gentle suction stimulates production of healthy cells, collagen and elastin. This safe, non-invasive procedure leaves the skin smooth and refreshed with no down time.

This treatment can be customized to the individual patient’s needs. Even thin or ultra-sensitive skin can be treated with ease. Treatment can be done alone or in conjunction with lasers or peels to maximize results.

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne and trauma scars
  • Enlarged pores
  • Blackheads and whiteheads
  • Sun damage/spots
  • Uneven skin texture

The Anti-Oxidant Peel:

  • Enhances collagen production
  • Improves skin texture
  • Soothes fine lines
  • Evens out darkened areas of the skin
  • Reduces skin inflammation

This peel allows the anti-oxidant to penetrate deeper. The anti-oxidant cream may be used in-between peels to achieve optimal results.

The anti-oxidant peel is one of the NYC dermatologist’s patients favorite “lunch-time” skin refreshing treatments.
